The FAA AirVenture Notice is the only authoritative source for arrival procedures. Read it cover-to-cover. Use current charts; visual navigation is required and published VFR waypoints may supplement it. Print physical arrival/parking signs - tablet signs are NOT accepted.

Aircraft profile

Drives speed/altitude defaults and which arrival path applies.

Standard piston (90 kt capable) notes

  • Remain at least ½ NM in trail behind the aircraft you are following.
  • No S-turning to slow down. Break off and restart at the transition start.
  • If unable to comfortably operate at 90 kt, use maximum cruising speed; ATC recommends arriving at Fisk 7:00-7:30 AM if practicable.

Divert

Pre-briefed triggers and alternates. Tap a trigger to confirm the action.

Decision triggers

  • Fuel reaches the pre-briefed diversion trigger.

    Leave the arrival and divert to the alternate you briefed. If fuel status is critical, notify ATC immediately.

  • Holding patterns observed or reported nearing capacity.

    Stay clear, proceed no further, make left turns over a ground point, monitor 120.7.

  • Unable to remain at least ½ NM in trail without S-turning.

    Break off, return to transition starting point, follow another similar-speed aircraft.

  • Uncomfortable with short approach / long landing.

    Before entering the arrival, use an alternate. If already approaching to land, execute a go-around when required and notify ATC immediately.
